Likhang Kawayan Series: Kaya ng Kawayan
Launching of the first episode of the Likhang Kawayan Series: Kaya ng Kawayan. The video showcased the importance of the Philippine bamboo industry to the people of Maasin, Iloilo, known as the Bamboo Capital of the Philippines, and featured some of the town’s bamboo enterprises.
Bamboo Scientific Conference
The Bureau also participated in the 1st Philippine Bamboo Scientific Conference of the Philippine Bamboo Society of Advocates, Inc. (PBSAI) where researchers and academe presented the latest available and emerging bamboo technologies.
Kawayan sa Paaralan
September 29 – the Bureau conducted a bamboo lecture campaign entitled “Kawayan sa Paaralan” at Antipolo National High School, Antipolo City. Forester Jinia D. Yaneza and Mr. Kim Cyrus M. Miranda discussed the importance of bamboo and the proper way of planting it. The students also conducted a bamboo planting activity as part of the lecture proper.

National Simultaneous Bamboo and Tree Planting Activity was held through an active collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Agriculture (DA). It was graced by the presence of His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., who planted a Kawayang Tinik at the Old Sanitary Landfill in San Mateo Rizal as part of the rehabilitation strategies in the said landfill. Through the said activity, more than 140,000 seedlings and bamboo planting materials were planted in a total land area of 198 hectares from the 133 planting sites in the country’s 16 regions.
