NATIONAL GREENING CONFERENCE

San Fernando, Pampanga— The National Greening Program (NGP) Coordinators’ Conference gathered a total of 242 NGP Coordinators coming from Regional Offices, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENROs), and Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs) with the objective to address all arising issues and concerns in the implementation of the Program, held in the Orchid Gardens Resort, on 4-7 September 2018.

In his message, DENR Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and International Affairs, Jonas Leones stressed the need for the field implementers to provide necessary reasons and justification, including the actions they have taken to address the issues on the low survival rates of the established NGP Plantations across the country.

The four-day conference includes the presentation of the Status of the NGP Implementation in terms of its physical accomplishment by FMB Director Nonito M. Tamayo, followed by the Status of NGP Financial Performance and COA Findings by Finance and Management Service Director Wilfredo Obien, Status of Submission of Soil Samples and Analysis presented by the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau Director Sofio Quintana, Status and Initial Results of FMB Technical Monitoring and Status of Compliance to 2018 GAA Provisions by Forest Resources Conservation Division Chief, For. Ma. Teresa Aquino, Operationalization of Mechanized and Modernized Forest Nurseries by For. Jesus Posadas, Status of Tayo ang Kalikasan Implementation by Director William Ragos, and the presentation on the Technical Bulletin (TB) No. 23 on the Third-party Performance Evaluation of the NGP Plantations by For. Ray Thomas Kabigting.
