Through Republic Act 7308, the National Seed Industry Council (NSIC) of the Department of Agriculture Bureau of Plant Industry has set rigorous protocols for the registration of crop varieties in the country before they are released for commercialization.
Some of the species being planted in the National Greening Program include Cacao, Coffee, and Rubber. Upon registration, these varieties have undergone testing and examination process to identify if the commodities possess distinct value and quality, high yield, and adaptable in different environmental condition to become globally competitive.
